Nonsurgical
Neuromodulator (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin)
Injectable treatments that relax specific facial muscles to soften dynamic wrinkles. Results appear within days and last three to four months.
Overview
Neuromodulators — Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and others — work by temporarily blocking the nerve signal to specific muscles, which relaxes the muscle and softens the lines produced by its movement. The most commonly treated areas are the forehead, the glabella (between the brows), and the lateral periorbital region (crow's feet). Treatment is also used for jawline slimming (masseter), gummy smile, and other targeted indications. Results begin within a few days and last three to four months on average.
Who it's for
The right candidate.
Patients with dynamic wrinkles — lines that appear with facial expression. Common areas: forehead, glabella (between the brows), and the lateral periorbital region (crow's feet). Also used for jawline slimming (masseter) and other targeted indications.
Technique
How it's done.
Small injections of Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin temporarily block the nerve signal to specific muscles. Dosing and injection points are matched to each patient's anatomy and the result they want. Treatment takes about ten minutes.
What to expect
From consultation to recovery.
Effects begin within three to five days and peak at two weeks. Duration is three to four months on average. No downtime — patients return to normal activity immediately, with instructions to avoid lying flat or rubbing the area for several hours.

FAQ
Common questions.
Will I look frozen?
Not if it is dosed correctly. The goal is softer expression, not absent expression. Overdosing the wrong muscles is what produces a frozen look.
How often do I need to come back?
Every three to four months for most patients. Some patients stretch this to four to five months over time as the muscles relax.
Are these brands different?
Slightly. Onset and duration vary a little between Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin, but the practical difference for most patients is minimal. Dr. Azadgoli's team will recommend a brand based on the area and the patient.
How much will I need?
Depends on the area, muscle strength, and your goal. The forehead and glabella typically need 20-40 units total. Crow's feet add another 12-24 units. Specific dosing is individual.
Are there side effects?
Mild bruising, headache for a day or two, or temporary asymmetry can occur. Rare side effects include eyelid or brow droop, typically temporary. We review what to watch for at your visit.
Can I lie down or exercise after?
Avoid lying flat for four hours and skip exercise for the rest of the day. Both are precautions to keep the product where it was placed during the first hours.
